Alessandra Frizzera, last year student in Local Development (University of Padua – School of Human Sciences), landed in Italy two weeks ago, after spending 3 months in San Fernando La Union, Philippines, monitoring the Kito’s “Health, Hygiene and Prevention Trainings”.
When she was in San Fernando, Alessandra collaborated with CENRO (City Environment and Natural Resources Office) and CHO (City Health Office) and she namely worked closely with nurse Jennifer and all the Barangay Health Workers. Despite Alessandra faced some difficulties, she got used to the local cultural background and she made the most of this experience.

The monitoring of the trainings and the project planning has been a very important experience, providing Alessandra’s food for thought.
Alessandra interacted with local authorities and many other local humanitarian players; she managed with civil services and learned some tagalog (national language) and some ilocano (local language).
The experience of Alessandra represented, with all its challenges, not only a formative work experience in the international cooperation field but also a form of education for life. Moreover, she had the opportunity to make many friends and dedicate some free time for some surf lessons!
Now the internship is over and it markedly increases Alessandra’s cultural stock-in trade!
Thank you for your support Alessandra, and Agyamanak to all Filipino and Ilocano friends!
