The beginning of a new year leads to an assessment and evaluation of the results that Kito Onlus has achieved with its work. Today we can proudly confirm that, since March 2014, about 8000 people have benefitted from the services delivered by our Kito-Health centre in San Fernando, La Union.
The major activities of the health center regarded maternal health, immunization, family planning, nutrition and periodical medical and dental missions. We can also be proud of a growing trend in participation of the beneficiaries to the project, thanks also to a campaign on malnutrition. In particular, this campaign was aimed at increasing undernourished children’s weight by integrating their diet with healthy food: 449 children have been measured and weighted only in the month of April 2014. Malnutrition is one of the biggest problem in the Philippines, and there is still a lot that can be done to overcome the issue. Nevertheless, with the work of Kito-Health in San Fernando, Kito Onlus is surely taking the problem into consideration by taking care of the wellness of the children, for example by distributing Vitamin A to make sure that they get the right intake for their development, and monitoring their progress.
